Sebastian Samur (doctoral candidate)

Sebastian Samur is a performer and doctoral candidate at the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies (University of Toronto). His primary interest is actor training and its various manifestations. This has led him to train with various companies, including SITI Company, Odin Teatret, Roy Hart Theatre, Mime Omnibus, the Dairakudakan butoh troupe, and the Grotowski Workcentre. Sebastian is also interested in intermedial theatre, which he explores through the university’s Digital Dramaturgy Lab.

In 2015, Sebastian was fortunate to be able to attend the Avignon Festival for the first time. Following this incredible experience, he worked with Antje Budde to design a course focused on bringing students there, which resulted in this 398 summer course.
